SPECIAL WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS 2022

The weather systems that will likely affect most parts of the country during the Christmas Holidays are the prevailing Northeast Monsoon, the passage of a low-pressure system, and the southward migration of the Shearline.

December 22-28: Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Caraga becoming frequent rains over Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Island, and Bicol Region by Monday and Tuesday (December 26 & 27). Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

December 29: Southern Luzon and Visayas will have cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains while Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

December 30, 2022 to January 01, 2023: Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with light rains while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Sea travelers are advised to exercise extra caution due to expected big waves, particularly over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
