TERMINATION OF THE SOUTHWEST MONSOON
Recent analyses showed a significant weakening of the Southwest Monsoon over the past few days. Moreover, the strengthening of the high-pressure system over East Asia has been observed and gradually changed the weather patterns in the country.
With these developments, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) season has officially ended. The country is now transitioning to the Northeast Monsoon (NE) season, which may be apparent and declared in the coming weeks.
DOST-PAGASA will continue to monitor the country's weather and climatic conditions. Meanwhile, the public and all concerned agencies are advised to monitor relevant PAGASA information regularly.
